Ms. Bock's studio held auditions on Saturday, May 31st, June 7 and at the end of the day on June 9th. "We presented 10 more students than the previous year. The kids work diligently all year to prepare their programs - this year scrambling around amid a horrible snow year and extended school hours. Students hone their skills in other events such as the Springfield Music Clubs Jazz and Spring Festivals. Once again, top honors in my studio go to the Jaskot kids! Anne and John Jaskot received scores at the level of 'Top Talent' which is the highest attainable in these auditions," said Ms. Bock. Throughout the US and abroad, over 100,000 enthusiastic piano pupils will participate in the annual National Piano-Playing Auditions which are held in over 880 music centers. Each entrant will be given a certificate, an embossed pin, a report card with comments by the adjudicator and a year's membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians.
