The Bock Studio On The Net
New Web Site Established
May 11, 2002 -- The Bock Studio, a piano studio
in the city of Fairfax since 1997,
has established a web site for students and
parents of the studio. It will also prove
informative to other
interested parties, most certainly those that may be considering
applying
for acceptance into the studio. The Bock Studio is run by MaryEllen
Bock who is the piano instructor. Ms. Bock is a graduate of the first class
(1976) of Lake
Braddock High School, has a Bachelor of Music
from James Madison University,
and an M.B.A. from George Mason University. She has one son, Jacob, who is a graduate
of
Thomas Jefferson School for Science and Technology (2001) and who is now
attending VA Tech.
Despite her Virginia roots and current Virginia residency, Ms. Bock spent
thirteen
years teaching in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she served for several
years as the Guild Chair for the National Guild of Piano Teachers Damascus, MD
Center. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Chapter of the National Music Teachers Association. She
taught small group class piano, and private piano. An article in the local paper highlighted her Kindermusik classes
at the local library.
Today
she concentrates in the combination private & small group piano
instruction she offers through her studio in Fairfax. However, she is also
the Director of "Mobile
Musicians, Inc.," a nearly year-old venture that contracts piano teachers to teach exclusively
in students' homes. Ms. Bock
says there is a continual need for this
service. She is exploring the best avenues to
ensure a strong service can be regularly provided to the Fairfax County families
interested in having piano
lessons in their own homes.
Ms. Bock is currently a member of the National Guild of
Piano Teachers, The Springfield Music Club, The Virginia Federation of
Music Clubs,
The National Federation of Music Clubs, The Northern Virginia
Music Teachers
Association, The Virginia Music Teachers Association and
the National Music
Teachers Association.
