This site is for students, parents and friends interested in The Bock Studio. It is anticipated that the student who starts with our teachers at age 6 or 7 will continue through high school.  As a result, the curriculum is specifically designed for each child throughout their studies with a Bock Studio teacher.  MaryEllen Bock and her associates teach with the view that students should leave piano studies prepared to take any next step in music. 

Our teachers are trained in teaching music. Our methods consider the beginning student’s cognitive development and the advancing student’s changing needs. Although we offer performance opportunities, we nurture the joy of music making regardless of the student’s performance level.

Ms. Bock's goal for each student is that he or she leaves the studio as accomplished musicians.  The student should be able to continue intelligently pursuing music on his or her own for continued pleasure, or as an amateur in supportive situations in the community, or as a music minor in a community college or as a college freshman majoring in a traditional music program.   Unlike many other careers and degrees, music is not something that one decides to pursue as a life's ambition when one is a junior at university.  The teachers at The Bock Studio think ahead for your child in case that should be your child's dream.
